REJOICE
We rejoice with the angels over the birth of a new
sister. Brittany Gibbs was
baptized Wednesday, July 20th. Please welcome and encourage her.
PRAYER REQUESTS
Ø Michael Hammond: “Prayers for Sam
Wright on the journey he will soon be taking. Let him use the tools and
knowledge to find peace and happiness and led him back to his brothers!”
Ø The
Law Family:
“E.J. Law – a cyst was found in his mouth, and he has to have surgery in
August. Prayers for his health.”
Ø Carol
Kuhn:
“Hector Cortez is in a lot of pain. He may have a tumor. He is David Nance’s
brother’s son-in-law.”
Ø Please continue to pray for Joan Palmer’s son, Charles Palmer, as he
recuperates at his home after having surgery. He will undergo radiation and chemotherapy
treatments for 6 to 7 weeks. Cards may be sent to Charles Palmer, 2164
Gibson Street, Mobile, Alabama 36617.
Ø Paula
Pope:
“Mom’s surgery is still scheduled for Tuesday. No infection found in her
bloodstream. She’s on antibiotics to keep the infection at her toe from
spreading through the body.” (Update: Rhonda Pope had her toe amputation
surgery Tuesday, August 2nd, and is in room 779 at Huntsville
Hospital.)
Ø JoAnn
Rice:
“Thank you for all the prayers and kindness shown to me and my family. Please
keep Fritz and his family in your prayers.”
Ø Tom
Reynolds:
“1) Jodi Moore has COVID – pray for quick healing. 2) We praise God that
our oldest grandson, Jacob, was baptized into Christ yesterday
(Saturday, July 30th) on his mother’s 40th birthday.”
Ø James
Ryans:
“My first day is tomorrow (Monday, August 1st) for work. Pray that
it all goes well with the new transition for our family.”
Ø Seal
Family:
“Please pray for my mom, Okhui Brown. She is still in South Korea taking
care of her sister who is dying.”
Ø David
and Doris Smith:
“Please pray for the Lamb family in the loss of their 3-year-old son
Friday night. He drowned in our community’s pool.”
Ø Please
keep Drue Wright in your prayers as she spent
the night in Crestwood and had all sorts of tests especially for heart
problems. Her heart is fine, but she is still having problems with fatigue. She
would appreciate prayers for more energy.

Mae was born to Morgan and Allison Brown Friday night, July 29th,
weighing 9 pounds. Great-grandmother, Claudia Ford,
and great-great-grandmother, Drue Wright, are excited about her arrival,

THANK
YOU
Central
Family,
We
are so thankful to have so many generous and loving people in our lives! These
past few months you have blessed us in so many ways: prayers, encouraging
words, food, gifts, the wonderful snack basket and fellowship. We cannot thank
you enough for your love and support as we adjusted to bringing home our sweet
Melanie.J
JeVontee and Sarah (Goad) Phillips
The many calls and cards sent by
the Central body have been so encouraging. I get several cards every day! Thank
you so much for showing your love this way. Please continue your prayers for
me. I go to Atlanta August 1 for more evaluation regarding re-starting the
clinical trial treatment for this cancer. Love,
Regina and Russell Ralston
JOIN
IN ON THE FUN!
Everyone is invited to join in on the fun for the
next two Fridays (August 5th and 12th) beginning at 7:00 p.m. You
can either play a group game in the gym – or if you’re not into sports, bring
your favorite card or board game and play in the Fellowship Hall. You can also
just come and enjoy the company of all. Drinks and
snacks will be provided.
COLLEGE – FNLs
There is
a sign-up list posted in the kitchen for those who would like to prepare food
for our Campus Ministry’s FNL. If your family, group, or LIFE Talk
is preparing the meal for any of the weeks, the Campus Ministry invites you to
join them for the entire evening if you can and get to know our college
students.
SERVANTS NEEDED
We have made the
nursery and toddler care available to families for Bible class time and for
assembly time. For that, we need several more people. Please let Suzie Nance know at
drnance@hiwaay.net or 256-653-2508 if you are available to help with
those needs. Contact Suzie for the web link to
choose your day and time to serve. Thanks!
NURSERY THROUGH FOUR YEARS OLD
We are providing nursery and toddler care as well as
our existing childcare for the children on Sunday mornings. Children ages 0 – 4
years old have childcare during assembly and class time in three separate
classroom settings according to their ages.
COMMUNION PREPARATION NEEDS HELP
If you could prepare the communion for one of these
months (October, November, or December), please sign the list in the kitchen.
If you have any questions, please contact Jim Phillips.
CONGRATULATIONS
Our congratulations to Charles and Barbara Hopkins,
who will be celebrating their 66th wedding anniversary Saturday,
August 6th. Thank you for your example to all of us.

Spiritual Vision for Life: June 26 through August 28
As Christians, we are
called to “live by faith, not by sight” and to “regard no one from a worldly
point of view” (2 Corinthians 5:7, 16). So, do we see things the way
the world sees them, or do we see things from a spiritual point of view? In
this series, speakers will present lessons on several topics to help us think
spiritually and see spiritually.
